Getting Around

Paying for Transit (NYC)

  • NYC subway/local bus fare: $3.00 for most riders.

  • OMNY tap-to-pay offers a 7-day fare cap: pay up to $35 in 7 days and rides are free after you hit the cap (use the same card/device).

PATH (Jersey City ⇄ Manhattan)

  • PATH SingleRide Ticket: $3.00 (check the PATH page for any updates).

  • Newport PATH Station (near the hotel): 90 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07310.

Hotel ⇄ Venue (Recommended Route)

From Courtyard Jersey City Newport → NYAM (1216 Fifth Ave)

  • Start at Courtyard Jersey City Newport, 540 Washington Blvd, Jersey City
  • Walk to Newport PATH Station, 90 Pavonia Ave
  • Take the 33 St-bound PATH train into Manhattan
  • The Newport to 33rd Street PATH ride takes about 15 minutes
  • Get off at 33rd Street PATH
  • Walk to the 33 St subway station on Park Avenue
  • Take the uptown 6 train to 103 St
  • Exit at 103 St
  • Walk west on 103rd Street to Fifth Avenue
  • Arrive at New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM), 1216 Fifth Ave
  • The entrance is on 103rd Street

Timing tip (April 3–4)

  • Target arrival at the venue 30 minutes before your first session begins.

  • Allow about 60 to 90 minutes total, depending on train wait time and walking pace. That fits your concern that the trip can take around 1 to 1.5 hours. The published PATH leg alone is about 15 minutes, and the rest of the trip still includes the subway transfer, the uptown subway ride, and the final walk.

From Airports (Public Transit Quick Guidance)

  • EWR: NJ TRANSIT rail + AirTrain.

  • LGA: Q70 LaGuardia Link to subway connection.

  • JFK: AirTrain to Jamaica → subway or LIRR.
